World Day of Prayer

by Feb 20, 2021Blog

This year, the “World Day of Prayer”, held on March 5th, will celebrate the people of Vanuatu, a small country of islands in the south pacific ocean. It is estimated that 75% of its population live in rural areas with poor transport and communications, less qualified healthcare givers, fewer human resources, and inadequate health facilities.

The “World Day of Prayer” services aim to assist young rural women by creating employment, educational opportunities, and health programs that will focus on maternal concern, children’s health care, and cancer.

The “World Day of Prayer” will be held virtually this year. We invite you to join us on March 5th. To view the service online visit wicc.org and click on the one hour service video button.

Those who wish to make a donation to this worthy cause can do so by contacting Linda McDonald (613.525.0356) or by donating directly at wicc.org. A receipt will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
