Basilica

Come and explore one of the birthplaces of Catholicism in Canada.

Come explore the historic and holy site of St. Finnan’s Basilica.

Dive into the past and see how pilgrims made their way across Canada, bringing the faith to those on their journey.

St. Finnan’s Basilica began as a mission and continues in the mission to this day!

Founded in 1833, St. Finnan’s Basilica has been instrumental in bringing the faith to the area of North Glengarry.

The Eucharist has been celebrated in this very spot since 1833. The faithful have congregated and celebrated countless baptisms, marriages, confirmation and ordinations. This place is holy ground and a spot on this earth where Christ’s presence has been profoundly experienced.

With a rich, profound, and exciting history we invite you to book a tour of our beautiful basilica.

Be enriched in your faith and inspired in mission.
