The Epiphany of the Lord

by Jan 6, 2023Nota Bene

Thank you once again to all of you who shared your gifts, talents, and treasures during our season of giving. The image of the Magi kneeling before the infant Jesus and opening
their treasure chests for Him is an image that we should all try to follow each day, and throughout this new year. In gratitude for all that we have been given, we are called to generously share all of our gifts, not just the ones we pick and choose. God wants us to be
generous with everything, but especially that one thing that means the most to you.
There are no gifts that God cannot use to transform a church! Click here to continue reading

On the morning of December 31st, Vatican officials announced the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Only a few days earlier, Pope Francis had asked the public to pray for his predecessor. On January 2nd Pope Benedict’s body was moved to Saint Peter’s Basilica to provide an opportunity for the faithful to pay their respects. Thursday, January 5, Pope Francis celebrated a Funeral Mass for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in Saint Peter’s Square at 9:30am Rome time (3:30am EST).
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

St. James CWL would like to thank all the parishioners of both St. James & St. Anthony’s for supporting our Christmas Dinner Basket draw. The winner was Tina Rolland and we raised $510.00 which will go towards hosting the Provincial Convention this July in Cornwall.

St. Finnan’s CWL sincerely thanks the bakers and shoppers who so enthusiastically responded to our “Cookies for Christmas” fundraiser.  We raised nearly $700 between St. Finnan and St. Catherine of Sienna parishes! We appreciate your continued generous support.

Every Friday during our Holy Hour, and private prayers during Adoration (8:30am – 4pm
St. Finnan’s Basilica) we are invited to pray for all vocations – to the Sacrament of Marriage, to religious brothers and sisters, and to Holy Orders. To continue reading….
