I’m getting ready for Super Bowl Sunday! Bengals or Rams? I was watching the Monday night game a few weeks back, and greatly enjoyed the Manning brothers’ running commentary. In the past couple years we have been trying the run plays, which is always hard work. Everyone wants to see that amazing pass, and it seems that as restrictions continue to lift, our parishes are ready to do something amazing!
Instead of writing on a weekly basis this year – thanks to the Communications Team – I’ve decided to prepare monthly updates on our Parish Vision and Mission! Our Annual Report is on the way. Last year was difficult on our parishioners, but hope is around the corner.
Thank you for all of you who donate to the mission, who donate to our parishes, and programs! It is truly a blessing, and an investment for the future. I encourage you to pick up a copy, or two, of our Annual Report, and see what is happening in our parishes, how God is at work in our hearts! Come Holy Spirit!
Starting next week we will also begin a new 3-week Preaching Series on How To Increase Giving. I had a great meeting in January with both our Pastoral & Finance Councils. The question of budgets came up as we began a new year. How and why should we give to the parish? It is a question of Catholic Stewardship – our gifts, talents, and treasures. But, it is also a type of thanksgiving, thanking God for His presence in our lives.
It is an invest in all our parishioners, our brothers and sisters who continue to thirst and hunger for God.
For example, let’s pray in a special way in the next two months for the thirty-two families who have enrolled in First Communion preparations! This is amazing!
Finally, this past year we began the process of reorganizing all ministries in the lens of evangelization.
All we do is for the mission.
Ministry might be changing, but it’s not stopping. Our Annual Report highlights how your donations are supporting the mission.
Finally, if you find this type of update helpful, I’ll plan to send something similar once a month. I just want you to know what’s going on, what changes we are making, and what’s staying the same.
Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me directly. Enjoy the Super Bowl LVI! Go Rams!
