One does not live on bread alone

Jesus said to them,
“I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”

Jn 6:24-35

Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Quick Summer update on our three priorities. 1) Sacramental Preparation. we continue to need volunteers to help with the formation and preparation of families and their children towards the Sacraments of Initiation. We would need 3 more people for the Baptism Committee. We need 5 people for the First Communion Committee. We also need 5 people for our Confirmation Committee. If you are interested, please send me an email.

2) The Pastoral Calendar. The partnership between our North Glengarry Parishes and Maison Shalom House is now well underway. The Shalom House Management Board also is preparing to host events, conferences, and more. We are currently looking at focusing on 4 Keynote speakers for the upcoming Pastoral Year, a) September 2021 (Welcome Back), b) November 2021 (Hope), c) March 2022 (Lent), and d) June (end of year party). If you have ideas or suggestions for someone to invite for these Keynote Conferences, and gatherings please let me know. We hope to have more details soon on our first series coming up in the Fall.

3) Finally, our new Parish Office & Welcome Centre. Shalom House has been non-stop in the past month. This past week our new network guy installed with his team high-speed internet throughout Shalom House. The cabling and networking makes it possible to connect throughout most of the house. Also, last week we hired a moving company, and our books, shelves, desks, are physically now at Shalom House. We’ll be working on offering office hours shortly. Our last step is to finalize our new phone system. Thanks again to all who shared their time, talents, and treasures to make this happen.

Please stay tuned too for a modified Mass schedule for the last two weeks of August as I will be away on vacation. Fr. Gilles will be present for our Sunday Masses. Let us continue praying for one another. Have a great week. Peace.
