Not finance. Not strategy. Not technology. It is teamwork that remains the ultimate competitive advantage, both because it is so powerful and so rare.

I would like to present to you our newest parish staff member – Ann McMillan! Welcome to the team sister!

Last year I took almost every webinar that Amazing Parish put together. I learned a lot about leadership. Vision is the hope of who we want to be, and mission is our path to get there! I spoke about Office Space – part one, and our new Director Lorne Stang. Office Space – part two, included the addition to our team of Fr. Kevin Burgess, Deacon Michael El-Nachef, and Nathan van Putten. And now it is my great pleasure to welcome Ann to our parish office over at Shalom House who had her first day last week. Game on!

Every team needs to have a thematic goal or rallying cry. What is the one thing that we need as an organization, as a parish family? You need to set the collective goal first and then look at how each ministry functions within that. Ann has 30+ years experience in Office Administration with The Catholic District School of Eastern Ontario. Along with Kayla – our Finance Administrator, Ann will help run the office, and is ready to welcome you and answer your questions.

Along with our parish staff team, Ann will be helping in evangelization, and the mission! I look forward in working with her, and invite you to welcome her next time you see her, or visit her in the office. A few more details about our new staff member.

Ann McMillan is a parishioner of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, and St. Finnan’s Basilica Parish. She was born, raised & still resides on the 5th generational farmland, on Highway 43. Ann is married to Glen McMillan for almost 34 years and they share the same passion of sports, sports & more sports – particularly Soccer. I’m wondering if Pittsburgh has a soccer team that I can cheer for? Also, Ann just retired from a 31+ year career at The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario in Office Administration. In her retirement, she plans to focus on family and friends, faith, community, and travel. I am very grateful that she will also spend a few hours helping our Parish community grow the Catholic Faith in Glengarry!

Ann’s office is located at Maison Shalom House, and her contact details are as follows:

  • email: office@stfinnan.ca
  • phone: 613.525.1340
  • office hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 12pm
  • fav hockey team: Ottawa Senators

Again, please join me in welcoming Ann, and wish her every blessing in this role within our parishes.
