WORDS FROM OUR PASTOR

Today, our readings remind us how easy it is, especially in these times, to be consumed by the cares and distractions of the “here and now,” forgetting about what matters most — living for the Kingdom of Heaven. The stewardship way of life, with its emphasis on the virtuous use of our Time, Talent and Treasure, allows us to embrace daily life and all its demands — with eternity in mind. The next few weeks we will all be preparing to take Stewardship to the Next Level. We will be actively discussing how we can all share our time, talents, and treasure. We will also be forming a new Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils, as well as introducing a new monthly meeting for Evangelization and Parish Growth. Please take time to submit names – one from your parish, and one person from another parish – who you would like to see on these councils and sharing leadership for the mission.

A CHRIST-CENTRED, CO-JOURNEY TOWARDS HEALING:

All the money raised through “A Christ-Centred, Co-Journey Towards Healing” stays in our local communities. Five local Indigenous groups and organizations have already received grants thanks to your generosity last year. One of those groups is Minwaashn Lodge who provide a range of programs and services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children. They have created a 12-month cultural healing and wellness program for Indigenous women to develop competencies in traditional knowledge, traditional crafting, and ceremony. Please prayerfully consider giving to this year’s special collection to help fund other innovative initiatives.  Learn more at: https://journeyforhealing.ca/
