WORDS FROM OUR PASTOR:

Please welcome this Sunday His Grace Archbishop Marcel Damphousse to our 11am Mass at the Basilica, and Bishop Yvan Mathieu to our 9:30 am Mass at St. James church in Maxville, and 11 am Mass at
St. Anthony’s church in Apple Hill, as both help us to move forward as a new parish family, St. Finnan’s Parish. Come Holy Spirit.  In today’s Gospel, the Lord says, “The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Jesus was truly the greatest among them, but He always spoke of Himself and viewed Himself as a servant. When Jesus talks about service, he is talking about something far greater than having a desire to help others. The Cross shows us what Jesus means by service. Service means total obedience to the will of God. To serve is to give your life as a gift for others. Let us prepare ourselves for our new Stewardship Preaching Series in the coming weeks.
