LENT 2023
- Daily Mass, from Tuesday to Friday, 8am at St. Finnan’s Basilica
- Divine Mercy Chaplet immediately following the Tuesday morning Mass.
- Each Wednesday during Lent, Stations of the Cross will be at 6 pm, followed by Mass at 6:30 pm at St. Finnan’s Basilica.
- Each Friday during lent, Stations of the Cross will be at 10 am at St. James Parish, Maxville.
- Eucharistic Adoration every Friday, until 4pm at St. Finnan’s Basilica.
- Sacrament of Reconciliation before Daily Mass, Saturdays starting at 3:30pm, and by appt.
- March 19-21: Lenten Retreat with Fr. Rob Arsenault

Let’s pray for our North Glengarry Youth Group who are off to Toronto this weekend. The Rally is an annual event for youth & adults that focuses on evangelizing through uplifting music, testimonials, reflections, Divine Mercy celebration & eucharistic adoration.

2022 TAX RECEIPTS
Tax receipts for donations made to the parish in 2022 are available for pickup in the church foyer after our Masses. If you are unable to make it to the church for pickup, or you happen to notice an incorrect address on your receipt please contact the office for any changes. A special note to anyone who made a 2022 donation to the parish via credit card with Canada Helps (on our website): when donations are made to the parish through Canada Helps, a tax receipt is issued right away via email. LENTEN JOURNEY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
During lent St. Francis de Sales Parish will be pondering the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives as we watch, and discuss, the Wild Goose videos. On Wednesday mornings (beginning on March 1st), coffee will be served in the hall following morning Mass. The videos will begin at 9 AM. EVERYONE WELCOME!
LENTEN MORNING OF REFLECTION
A warm invitation is extended to the members of the Alexandria-Cornwall Diocesan to be CWL sister guests at the CWL Ottawa Diocesan Council 2023 Lenten Morning of Reflection on March 11, 2023. The morning will begin at 8:30 am with coffee & snacks, followed by 9 am Mass, and Stations of the Cross at 9:30 am. Light refreshments will be served after Stations of the Cross. Celebrant: Fr. Gerard Plant, Ottawa Diocesan Spiritual Advisor. Facilitator: Giovanna Mingarelli, an awarded speaker named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by Women’s Executive Network. IRISH STEW
Back by popular demand, the St Raphael’s Cooking Club is preparing takeout dinners (Irish stew, mashed potatoes, salad, bun and dessert) to celebrate St Patrick’s Day: March 17th, 2023! WOMEN’S MORNING OF REFLECTION
Please join us Saturday March 4th from 9:00 am – 12:00pm at the Agora Centre on McConnell Avenue, Cornwall, for Mass, confession, breakfast, a talk and the rosary. The speaker is yet to be confirmed. WOMEN’S LENTEN RETREAT
On Saturday March 11th, St. Francis de Sales CWL is hosting a retreat for ALL women in the parish, and any ladies in local parishes who might like to join us. We will begin at 9 AM and close with a light lunch at 12:30 PM. The theme will be “The Grace-filled Armour of God”. Registration is required in order to plan for food and materials, but the retreat is free. To register you can contact the parish office by email or call between 9 and 12 on weekdays. ST. PATTY’S DAY IRISH STEW
The Knights of Columbus Council 755, 205 Amelia St, Cornwall, will be holding a St. Patty’s Day Irish Stew on Friday, March 17th in their Downstairs Hall. A delicious stew will be served from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and will feature live entertainment. Tickets are $12.00 per person and are available at the bar or calling (613) 932-7600.
WALKING TOGETHER IN HOPE: MONTREAL WOMEN’S RETREAT
All women aged 16 and over are invited to come and be renewed in hope and amazed by the gift of the feminine heart! This day-long retreat will be a time to step out of the busyness of ordinary life to encounter the love, peace, and mercy of Jesus in a new way. The day will include times for fellowship, music, prayer, silence, witness and talks by the Sisters of Life. We will celebrate the Eucharist together, have opportunities for Confession, and Eucharistic Adoration.

CNEWA NEWS
A year ago, the Russian invasion of Ukraine transformed the country, deeply impacting the people living in it. Thanks to the generosity of Canadians, the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA Canada) and its partners on the ground in Ukraine contributed to protecting and helping Ukrainian families.
CNEWA’s partners on the ground have been able to provide emergency services and humanitarian and pastoral support to Ukrainians by offering care, medical supplies, food, clothing and shelter to displaced persons, the elderly and the sick, as well as educational programs and support to local priests.

TURKEY/SYRIA EARTHQUAKE EMERGENCY AID CAMPAIGN

This emergency campaign will be headed by Aid to Church in Need (ACN), Canadian Jesuits International (CJI), Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) Canada, and Development and Peace-Caritas Canada (DPCC).
