PARISH VISION

To rekindle the Catholic faith in Glengarry, proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, and build the Kingdom of God.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Our readings today remind us that our God is a tender and loving God. Today, let us reflect on how much our Good and Gracious God loves us. Remember that whatever we are suffering in this life, do not be afraid, God is right there with us. Offer it to Him, seek His healing and remain faithful so that one day we might rise.

DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT OUR LITURGY?

Liturgical Ministry: The Role of Servers – A server is a liturgical minister, one of a group of men, women, boys, and girls who helps out by performing specific tasks during our various liturgies. Servers assist by *serving the priest as he presides over the liturgy; *serving the parish community by assisting in celebrating the liturgy as model and mirror for the assembled people; *serving God through their worship and prayer.  The Pastoral Notes for the Celebration of the Eucharist in Light of the Revised Roman Missal, 2012, has this to say about the ministry of Server: “Servers or acolytes are the general household servants of the Eucharistic celebration. Their responsibilities include carrying the thurible, cross and candles in processions, assisting the celebrant (especially with the Missal) and at the altar as required.  Efficient and discreet serving contributes to the orderliness and flow of the celebration. In fulfilling their ministry, servers assume the way of Jesus, who came to serve (Mt. 20.28). Servers should carry out their work in a quiet and dignified manner. They should not move about during the prayers, readings, or times of reflection and they should, except where their ministry absolutely requires otherwise, model the postures and principles of participation for the rest of the assembly.” Our parish is currently in need of adult servers for certain parish Masses, and especially to assist at Funerals. If you can offer your help to this ministry, please contact the parish office.
