FROM THE PASTOR’S BLOG

Back to life, back to reality, back to meetings! As the new year has begun, so have meetings. I remember reading this book that changed the way I look at all our meetings: Death By Meeting. Through a serious story set in business, Pat Lencioni (from Amazing Parish) outlines his vision of how to make meetings much more effective and, … enjoyable. Indeed, I enjoy catching up with our leaders, and praying together, for our families, and discerning how best to serve the mission. It is a joy to work in the Lord’s vineyard together! If you would like to serve on either the Shalom House Board, Parish Pastoral, or Parish Finance Councils, please come and see me.  Please click here to go online to see more details.

PRAY FOR VOCATIONS

In the New Year we will be introducing a new Travelling Chalice Program, an easy way to help parishioners pray for vocations. In this program, a family or individual receives a chalice at the end of Mass. They take the chalice to their home to display, praying for vocations throughout the week. They can write down any prayer intentions or share reflections on their time with the chalice in an optional prayer journal. Before the following weekend’s liturgies, they return the chalice to the parish. If you would be interested in helping out with this program, please talk with Fr. Blake. To continue reading….
