THANK YOU

Thank you to Amy & Liz (and their amazing sound crew) who organized our Candlelight Christmas Concert this year. As Pope Francis reminded us, we shared candles of hope in the midst of darkness. Thank you to everyone who shared their time, talents, and treasures with us. The amount raised, $1218.15 were proceeds that benefited our four North Glengarry Parishes, and our community outreach programs. Fun fact: the musicians are already booked for next year! Thanks again to everyone who participated.
May God Bless you, and Mary protect you.

CWL NEWS

St. Finnan’s CWL will sell “Cookies for Christmas” at all Masses at the Basilica this weekend!  The cookies at $5 per bag will make a delicious gift or supplement your Christmas baking.

Many thanks are extended to everyone who helped St. James and St. Finnan’s CWL Councils to organize the Advent & Christmas Dinner Celebration at Shalom House. Your generous contributions of time, talent and treasure made the evening a wonderful, festive success.   We appreciated the presence of our NGP clergy, Fr. Jonathan Bake, our CWL Spiritual Advisor; Fr. Gilles Marcil; and Deacon John Kennedy.   Thanks to the staff and catering team at Shalom House for a warm welcome as we prepared for the evening, and for a delicious meal.   Special thanks to our CWL members for joining us in such good numbers, and for their donations of canned goods for the Food Bank and gloves and mittens for St. Finnan’s School students.
May God bless us, everyone, as we continue our faithful service “for God and Canada” in the New Year.  Merry Christmas from your sisters in Christ,
St. James’ and St. Finnan’s Parish Councils of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada

SERVICE OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS

Everyone is invited to attend a Service of Nine Lessons and Carols on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022 at 7 pm at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Maxville. Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols derived from the Church of England was first held a little over 100 years ago. The service itself, as the name suggests its format is a Scripture reading – beginning with Genesis and going through to John’s Gospel, and each reading is followed with a carol that corresponds with the reading. Lots of readings and lots of singing! Everyone is welcome!

BINGO

Precious Blood Parish in Glen Walter will have their next bingos on
Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, in the church hall beginning at 7:00 pm. EARLY BIRD GAMES start at 6:15 pm.  Doors open at 5 pm. Over $1325.00 to be won.  Everyone welcome.  Hope to see you there!
