The Eucharist unites us. Not just with people at Mass, but all people formed in the image and likeness of God.
Join Chalice as we celebrate Corpus Christi, June 18-19, and find 2,000 sponsors for children in developing countries. Hear an inspiring message from your priest or deacon at Mass, and learn how Holy Communion invites us to satisfy the spiritual and physical hunger of others.
During Mass on June 18-19 we invited to sponsor a child.
Corpus Christi Procession
On Sunday, June 19, there will be a Corpus Christi Procession following the 11:00 AM mass. The Procession will be starting at St Finnan’s and ending at Shalom House. All who wish to socialize after the procession are invited to bring their own lunch and lawn chair for a picnic at Shalom House. All are welcome.
We will process in the streets of our neighbourhood with the Blessed Sacrament. It is a fantastic way for us as a community to witness to our belief in the real presence of our Lord Jesus in the Eucharist, and to bless our neighbours with the presence of Christ! The procession itself will depart from St. Finnan’s and make a few stops in the neighbourhood for prayers. We will end at Shalom House with Benediction.
Those who want can park at shalom house previous to the procession may do so for convenience. There is limited parking, so first come first served.
What a heart-warming and wonderful celebration the parishioners of St. Finnan’s Basilica offered us, the Sisters of Holy Cross, on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Truly we felt love, support and gratitude for the 166 years the Sisters have ministered in the Ottawa-Cornwall Diocese and especially in the North Glengarry Parishes. We cherish the plaque that will remain at St. Finnan’s Basilica and we assure you we will remain united in prayer! Blessings to you and your loved ones.
