Mass Times Change

On Tuesday, June 21 daily Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, not 8:00 am, as we welcome St. Finnan’s Catholic Elementary School for their end of year celebration and graduation. All are welcome.

Pastor’s Update

Now, our parish office continues to grow! I have already mentioned them at Mass in the last couple weeks, but please say hello to Fr. Kevin Burgess, Deacon Michael El-Nachef, and Nathan van Putten! They are all here this summer, working with our parishes, and can often be found at Maison Shalom House!

Join us for Mass and Lunch this Weekend

Join us in celebration of the Sisters of Holy Cross as our pastoral year comes to an end. All are invited!

When: Sunday, June 12
Time: After the 11 o’clock Mass at St. Finnan’s Basilica
Where: The Fraternité Hall
Who: This event is open to all

The North Glengarry Parishes will host a special celebration to honour the historic presence in our communities of the Sisters of Holy Cross. We have invited all active and retired Sisters from Alexandria-Cornwall to join us at St. Finnan’s for the 11 o’clock Mass on Sunday, June 12th. A presentation at the Basilica will be followed by a catered light lunch at the Fraternité Hall. We hope you and your families will join us there to extend your personal thanks and appreciation to the Sisters as they prepare to close their mission here and relocate to Ottawa.

From the establishment of their Alexandria convent in 1856, the Sisters of Holy Cross fanned out to work in schools and parishes across Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. For many generations they have  enriched our community life in countless ways. Their selfless devotion to the service of others, deeply rooted in our shared Catholic faith, is a testimony to their vocation as brides of Christ. They have set for us a stellar example to follow as we bid them an affectionate farewell.

Come help us celebrate 166 years of shared history with our beloved Sisters of Holy Cross on Sunday, June 12th.

The Eucharist unites us. Not just with people at Mass, but all people formed in the image and likeness of God.

Join Chalice as we celebrate Corpus Christi, June 18-19, and find 2,000 sponsors for children in developing countries. Hear an inspiring message from your priest or deacon at Mass, and learn how Holy Communion invites us to satisfy the spiritual and physical hunger of others.
During Mass on June 18-19 we invited to sponsor a child.

Corpus Christi Procession

On Sunday, June 19, there will be a Corpus Christi Procession following the 11:00 AM mass. The Procession will be starting at St Finnan’s and ending at Shalom House. All who wish to socialize after the procession are invited to bring their own lunch and lawn chair for a picnic at Shalom House. All are welcome.

We will process in the streets of our neighbourhood with the Blessed Sacrament. It is a fantastic way for us as a community to witness to our belief in the real presence of our Lord Jesus in the Eucharist, and to bless our neighbours with the presence of Christ! The procession itself will depart from St. Finnan’s and make a few stops in the neighbourhood for prayers. We will end at Shalom House with Benediction.

Those who want can park at shalom house previous to the procession may do so for convenience. There is limited parking, so first come first served.

The Basilica and Maison Shalom House are Open for Booking!

With the addition of Dcn. Michael and soon to be Fr. Kevin, we are expanding our retreat offerings!

St. Finnan Basilica will be available for book retreats. We’ll be offering half day, full day, and create your own pilgrimage retreats!

Spread the word that we are open and available for bookings.
