We’re in Lent!
This weekend marks the first Sunday of Lent. We are looking forward to journeying with you to Easter.
We have some very exciting opportunities this Lent. Check out Formed.org for some great Lenten content. AND, we’ve attached a Lenten Calendar with suggestions for each day of the Lenten season.
We are also very excited to announce our first Lenten Mission. Fr. Allan MacDonald, CC, a priest of the Companions of the Cross, will be joining us from April 3-6 for the Lenten Mission Ground & Found.
The Schedule for the mission is as follows:
Sunday, April 3: 11:00 am Mass at St. Finnan’s Basilica
Monday, April 4: 6:00 pm Confession
7:00 pm Mass with extended Homily
Tuesday, April 5: 6:00 pm Confession
7:00 pm Mass with extended Homily
Wednesday, April 6: 6:00 pm Confession
7:00 pm Mass with extended Homily
COVID Restrictions Ending
We are excited to announce that, as of March 1, most COVID restrictions will be lifted.
Beginning Tuesday, March 1:
- All capacity limits on religious services will be lifted
- All physical distancing requirements will be lifted
- All capacity limits on social gatherings will be lifted
- Congregational singing will be permitted.
Please note:
- All masking requirements will remain in place.
Transition and change can be difficult. While we are excited these restrictions are lifting, we recognize that some may find this difficult. We ask all parishioners to be conscious of each other as these restrictions are lifted.
Pastor’s Blog – Blew a Tire
Finally, the holy season of Lent has begun. Just as hockey is a team sport, so is the parish family! I look forward to walking this 40-day pilgrimage with all of you, indeed I cannot do it alone.
Quick to Listen – Pastor’s Chat with Fr. Jon and Fr. Rob
We were both excited, and overwhelmed by joy to see the number of parishioners coming Home, back to Church, for the Ash Wednesday celebrations.
Synod – But Who do You Say That I Am?
You are invited to join us at our first Synod Conversation 8:30am Tuesday, March 8th after Mass in the Bishop MacDonell Room. A light breakfast will be served. We look forward to welcoming you, listening to each other and journeying together.
How can we, the faithful and our Christian communities, be more open to evangelization? In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be having different dates and options for you to share in-person. These questions could help our conversations. I know not everyone will have time to meet in-person. I invite you to share your comments online
Book Study
Our Life is Messy Book Study is finished!
If you weren’t able to participate but would still like to read Life is Messy by Matthew Kelly, books are available at our Parish Office and here is our Reading and Reflection Plan.
A big thank you to our team for making this possible. We are looking for more team members! If you enjoyed participating in the Book Study we invite you to join the leadership team.
Should you have any questions, or if you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to Amy Bourbonnais at alemanandbbourbonnais@hotmail.com.
Archbishop’s Lenten Message – A Lent of Great Importance
How will we live the next few weeks leading up to Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross and his glorious victory over death and evil?
We will accomplish this only if we keep our focus on the Lord who will guide us.
