Youth Movie Night at Maison Shalom House

Our next movie night for teens (grade 8s and up) happens on Friday, November 19th at Maison Shalom House in Alexandria. We are showing Black Panther, one of the Marvel Comics’ superheroes. Deacon Steven Greydanus of the National Catholic Register, who gave it an A-, had this to say “Black Panther marks the dawn of a new era of Hollywood fantasy in which heroes really can look like anyone — and are allowed to care deeply about honour and justice.” The movie, which is FREE, begins at 7 pm. There will also be free drinks and popcorn. There are only 20 spots available so reserve today by emailing Debbie at dpland@alexandria-cornwall.ca or by calling 613-933-1138, ext. 31.
Duc in Altum!
A unique « program » for young adults in their 20s and early 30s!
Have you ever asked yourself?
– What am I doing with my life?
– How do I find out what God’s plan of happiness is for me?
– How do I decide what is best for a life-giving future?
Obviously, you can’t answer these crucial questions in one day or even one week! Duc in Altum is a discernment spiritual journey over 8 monthly encounters beginning in January 2022 precisely because it takes quality time and space to “Put Out Into the Deep” as invited by Christ in Luke 5:4 (in “Latin, Duc in Altum”).
It is hard to put down on paper the difference that Duc in Altum can make in the life of a young adults who dares to walk with God over an 8-month period to find unique and crucial answers for one’s life! So, that is why we have 2 info sessions on what this is about on the Zoom platform: Wednesday, Nov. 24 and Wednesday, November 28 at 7pm. For more info, visit www.ducinaltum.ca/ottawa and request the zoom link from Sr. Francine Guilmette at francineguilmette@yahoo.ca
