First Communicants

Please pray for our 31 First Communicants on this holy and joyous occasion as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist (Holy Communion) for the first time.  As we welcome these children to the Lord’s table and into our Eucharistic community this weekend and two following weekends, please continue to keep them in your prayers.

Pastor’s Update – Office Space

The new Director will share responsibilities with Maison Shalom House Retreat and Welcome Centre, as well as with our North Glengarry Parishes. I am very excited to be working with Lorne who has a joy of the mission. This new hire is a key signpost for our families and parishioners, it is the hard right turn, moving the parish from maintenance to mission.

St Finnan’s CWL – Roses

As in the past, St Finnan’s CWL will be offering roses at masses on Saturday May 7 and Sunday May 8.

All money that is collected will be sent to  Our Lady’s  Missionaries. This religious community was founded in Alexandria in 1949 and remained here until 1959. The Catholic Women’s League of Canada supported them in 1949 and continue to do so today.

We thank you in advance for your contribution.

St Finnan’s CWL General meeting May 11 at 7:00 p.m.

All ladies of St Finnan’s parish are invited to our General CWL meeting on May 11 at  7 p.m. The Rosary will be said in church followed by a short meeting and refreshments  in the Bishop MacDonell room. We look forward to seeing you all.

Updated Livestream Schedule

Beginning this week, our livestream schedule will be changing. We will no longer be streaming weekday Mass. We will continue streaming the 11:00 am Sunday Mass at St. Finnan’s Basilica.

When the pandemic began, live streaming masses was essential. With churches being closed to the public, this was a necessary and important ministry. We wanted to be able to gather and worship together! We wanted all to be able to participate in Mass during those times when restrictions inhibited us from gathering in person.

With the lifting of restrictions, and the allowance/ability to attend Mass in person, we have decided to stop live streaming weekday masses. We will continue streaming Sunday Mass and will also be streaming special occasions.

We are grateful to all our volunteers who have made this ministry a success.

CWL Bursary

CWL have bursary application forms at the back of both St. Anthony’s and St. James parishes for students graduating from grade 12.

This Week at the NGP
