Easter

Thank you for joining us for a beautiful Easter Triduum. It was a delight to worship the resurrection of our Lord together.

Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Finnan’s Basilica

St. Finnan’s Basilica will be celebrating the Feast of God’s Mercy April 24th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.  Please join our North Glengarry Parishes on Divine Mercy Sunday for Praise and Worship with Adoration, Benediction, Confessions, Divine Mercy Chaplet and Hymns.  All are welcome!  This celebration will also be live-streamed.

First Communicants

Please pray for our 31 First Communicants on this holy and joyous occasion as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist (Holy Communion) for the first time.  As we welcome these children to the Lord’s table and into our Eucharistic community this weekend and two following weekends, please continue to keep them in your prayers.

Updated Livestream Schedule

Beginning this week, our livestream schedule will be changing. We will no longer be streaming weekday Mass. We will continue streaming the 11:00 am Sunday Mass at St. Finnan’s Basilica.

When the pandemic began, live streaming masses was essential. With churches being closed to the public, this was a necessary and important ministry. We wanted to be able to gather and worship together! We wanted all to be able to participate in Mass during those times when restrictions inhibited us from gathering in person.

With the lifting of restrictions, and the allowance/ability to attend Mass in person, we have decided to stop live streaming weekday masses. We will continue streaming Sunday Mass and will also be streaming special occasions.

We are grateful to all our volunteers who have made this ministry a success.

Catholic Women’s League

All members of The Catholic Women’s League are invited to the annual Alexandria-Cornwall CWL Diocesan Spring Retreat at St. Finnan’s Basilica on Thursday, April 28th. Adoration begins at 5:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 6:30p.m. Deacon Guy Cote will offer a short talk after Mass, and then a light lunch will be served in the Bishop Macdonell Room. Please join us for this spiritually enriching evening! If you are a woman 16 years of age or older, why not come to the Spring Retreat? See for yourself what The Catholic Women’s League of Canada has to offer. We look forward to meeting you.

The annual Alexandria-Cornwall Diocesan CWL Convention will be held at the Ramada Inn, Cornwall, on Sunday, May 29th, 2022 from 9a.m. to 4p.m. After the convention, Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church will be followed by a closing banquet at the Ramada Inn. The fee to attend the day-long Conference is $10, which includes lunch and a mid-morning snack. Tickets for the closing banquet are $40 each. Registration forms with payment are due by April 28th, and may be submitted at the Diocesan Spring Retreat at St. Finnan’s. Registration forms are available on the bulletin board at the entrance to the Basilica, or contact Hazel MacDonald at 613-525-3561 or email Inez Franklin at inez1989@hotmail.com to obtain a registration package or for more information.
