King of the Universe

Jesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world.”

Jn 18:36

Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Life is short.  How much time, energy and money do you put into building “your” kingdom here on earth?  We all know we can’t take it with us.  The real kingdom is in the next life.  Yet, how much time, energy and money do you invest in working for that eternal kingdom?  Ask God for His guidance.  Detach from earthly possessions.  Generously share your material goods with others for the greater glory of God. The reflections in the past few weeks have reminded us of our stewardship. Let us prepare for the new Liturgical Year, inviting Christ, King of the Universe, to be King of our hearts as well.

Thank you very much for your prayers this week! I look forward in sharing more about our theme – the joy of the priesthood – in the coming weeks! It was great to be with my brother priests once again, since it has been almost two years since I’ve last seen some of them. we gathered in prayer, shared meals together and stories, and i played a few games of ping pong too. our retreat was led by Fr. Paul Pearson, and he did an excellent job of reminding us of the joy of our vocation. being a priest brings me joy, and it brings me peace!

Congratulations on our ALPHA team once again for all their work on sharing the Good News with our brothers and sisters! stayed tuned for more witness stories at our Sunday masses as well. preparing now for the new liturgical year, and calendar year, we are discerning when the new ALPHA Sessions will begin. our Book Study Series will also continue early January. finally, our NGP Pastoral Council will be meeting in two weeks, and this week i’ll be preparing the agenda. if you have any comments, or concerns, please email me, or call me. have a great week. peace.
