Joy In Following Jesus

He called them, and immediately they left their boat
and their father and followed Him.

Matthew 4:22

3rd Sunday of Ordinary Time. Ministry does not involve grasping but instead focuses on offering. Administration is a gift, and our meetings are a way to serve the mission. We are preparing a new Pastoral Plan with more details to follow in our Annual Report 2023, coming out sometime in February. The Parish Pastoral Council members were supposed to meet this week but due to the weather we had to cancel once again. We will reschedule for early next week, while the Parish Finance Council members will meet January 31, and the Parish Renewal Committee meets February 16th.

The parish staff is skating well – Kayla, Ann, Lorne, and me. How can we help you? Please let us know. It is a joy to work with them in the vineyard of the Lord. I also look forward to our Parish Pastoral & Finance Council meetings, and other gatherings because together we share our gifts in order to serve the mission. We are not a team because we work together. Rather, we are a team because we trust, respect and care for each other. Please let us know how we can help you this new year.

In Sunday’s Gospel, just as Jesus called the first apostles, He calls each of us to follow Him, too. Not everyone is called to leave their business or family behind, but we are expected to put God first in everything. In gratitude to God, we should give our first and best of everything to Him: our time in daily prayer, our talent in participating in one of our parish ministries and our treasure to support the financial needs of our parish mission. It is a joy to work in the vineyard of the Lord with all of you. Thank you once again for sharing your gifts, talents, and treasure with our mission.
