Back in the day replay with Boyz To Men. However, this is not 1991 but 2022. It was my great joy this summer to work with both Deacon Michael El-Nachef and Nathan van Putten. However, next week begins the goodbyes as they prepare to go back to school. Please join me after the Thursday morning Mass, August 18th, for coffee and donuts, to say thanks to both our brothers. Deacon Michael’s last day will be August 19th, while Nathan will leave us the week after August 26. However, since most of the parish staff will be away the last week in August – including me, we’ve decided to host a small gathering next Thursday. Again, Deacon Michael will be returning to the seminary in Toronto for his last year of Theology. And, Nathan begins his 4th Year at Carleton University in Criminal Psychology. Let’s keep them in our prayers.
Finally, this summer saw more activities surrounding all things Youth Ministry. We completed a successful VBS week with almost 50 children registered. Stay tuned for more on this. Also our Young Adult ministry was amazing, having Ultimate Frisbee every Friday night at the park. (games are still happening though!)
I would also like to thank our team who worked hard at our Youth Ministry, gathering between ten to twenty youths on Thursday nights. In particular, thank you to Mikela Lemieux and her leadership skills at organizing our small groups, faith sharing, food and games! Let’s pray for Mikela as well, as she continues her studies in the Fall.
Please come out for our Mass Thursday morning at 8am, and stay to say hello to Deacon Michael, Nathan, and Mikela. It was great to share the leadership with them this summer! May God bless you, and Mary protect you. Peace.
