Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths:
All flesh shall see the salvation of God. (Lk 3:4,6)
Thank you once again for all your birthday wishes, and prayers, cards, texts, Facebook messages, gifts and food! It was a great birthday week (aka Octave) indeed! As I mentioned on FB earlier this week, all your messages are proof of God’s goodness, and kindness to me. Thank you very much! I continue to pray for each of you as well.
This week we continue our road to Bethlehem, with gratitude, enthusiasm, and hope! Last week we began Advent growing in the virtue of Faith. This week’s virtue is all about Hope. Indeed, Advent is a season pregnant with hope! We began our Advent Series, concerts hosted by different choirs every Sunday afternoon at 2pm. There were a few technical issues with sound, but we hope to have everything ready for this Sunday, Dec. 6. Please follow along via stfinnan.ca, or come in person at St. Finnan’s church. The communication team will continue to work on the website, and to improve all communications via email, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube (coming soon), and of course, via the website, stfinnan.ca.
Finally, this week was indeed one filled with enthusiasm, as we started our meetings with the new North Glengarry Parishes Pastoral Council. We began with prayer – adoration and Vespers (every Wednesday night during advent at 6:30pm) – followed by introductions of your parish leaders, and a longer discussion on what it means to be an amazing parish. We watched a video by Pat Lencioni from Amazing Parish, on how to best work as a team. What is our new vision, as a family of parishes in North Glengarry? There are many questions, and I look forward in working with this great team! If you have any comments and suggestions, please forward them to myself, pastor@stfinnan.ca. Have a great week. Peace.
